My fiance and I have been so excited because we were approved to adopt a rescue dog. She is adorable and has the exact personality we are looking for. We were supposed to pick her up on Saturday, but her foster mom took her to the vet for a final check up. They found a benign mass in her bladder that must be surgically removed. If everything goes well, we will be able to get her in two weeks. I know I shouldn’t be upset, but I am so worried something will happen to her! I know I gotta be optimistic, and chances are in two weekends we will have her.

Sorry to hear about your pup! I would be worried too, even though it sounds like everything will be okay. It sucks you are having to wait a little longer to bring your pup home but I’m sure she will be up and sniffing butts in no time! (Sorry, I had to throw in a Corky Romano reference)

I’m sure everything will be fine and your new puppy will come out of surgery great… As far as future health problems go.. You may want to look at the Banfield Pet Hospital.. They have a “health plan” you can get for your new family member. I got it for our kitten when we first got her. She was an abandoned stray.. She was in really bad shape.. But the people at Banfield helped us get her back to healthy.. Just a thought 🙂

Aw, I’m sure your girl will be just fine! That’s normal to worry. Congratulations on your new pooch! Please post pictures when you get her!

It’s most likely bladder stones, no biggie! It’ll come right out and after a few creepy potty trips she’ll be right as rain!

Aww the poor thing! Try to stay optimistic, I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’d be worried too, but still so excited to be getting a new family member.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes! It is a bladder stone. It sounds like she would just need to be on special food for the rest of her life, which isn’t a biggie!
