@MrsPanda99:  He sure does. I really hope this works out the way that it SHOULD, with the puppy in a wonderful home like yours.

@MrsPanda99:  Im so happy your husband was behind that truck, most other people wouldn’t pay the bill, would leave him, would get him put down or just let that ridiculour owner take the puppy back!

You have a solid standing here, you have a neglected and abused puppy, even if he had more solid proof (how does he know this is his EXACT puppy? One of his neighbours could have bought one from the same place? He has no solid proof!) he has no ground to stand on!

Though its of absolutley no use; *sending you my best good wishes and thoughts!*

If the vet you took this dog to was concerned about neglect, and the owner came forward, they are legally obligated to report it.  If you don’t know where this man lives to report him you should make sure the vet is reporting him.

Did they refund your money when the owner came forward?  Most vets don’t do payment plans anymore because of guys like that, they never see the money after the animal goes home.  In some clinics if it is a young dog that will likely return to a normal quality of life, they will have the owner surrender the dog to a shelter/rescue group and do the surgery vs euthanize.

This guy sounds like a dick and should not be an animal owner.  I hope the outcome of this is in your favour.

@MrsPanda99:  I think you should break into the vet’s clinic and puppynap that puppy.

What a terrible owner! Asshats like that shouldn’t be allowed to own dogs. I hope you can get an abuse case or investigation against him, and that you will be able to keep the puppy. I’m cheering for you. Please keep us updated.

@MrsPanda99:  Offer him money, seriously. Tell him that the dog will require life-long care due to his injuries and would be a useless outside dog.

I worked the equine beat with the SPCA out in a remote area. I once went and bought a pony because we couldn’t help her and she’d been trampled by bigger horses. My experience: scumbags hate welfare but oh boy do they love money. She still lives on the farm, but she’s basically feral.

@MrsPanda99:  I wouldn’t call the owners his real family though as they do not treat him like family. I’m sorry about the puppy going back to them I was really hoping you would get him in the end.
