My Maid/Matron of Honor lost a lot of weight a little before and after she got married. It’s so loose now that she has to wear her wedding ring/engagement ring on a necklace. She’s waiting a little longer to resize because she’s still loosing weight and wants to wait until she plateaus (whether it be her goal weight or something else)

Congrats on the weight loss!  I had this same issue.  You could just go to a jewelry store and buy a bumper to put on the bottom of the band to help keep it from spinning.  Or you could go really old school and wrap yarn around the bottom of your band to thicken it up and make it smaller!  The bumper from the store will blend in and you won’t see it!

Same here!  I’ve only lost 10, but I find the weight loss, plus hands that are ALWAYS cold, has resulted in lots of spinning.

I had mine resized from an 8 to a 6.75, although I probably need a 6.5, but I’m waiting until I have it on with my wedding band. I was without it for…an hour?? No big deal and it’s worth it to assure it won’t fall off your finger or get lost.

I lost 30lbs and went from an 8.5 to a 7. The ring was only gone for a week and I wore a ring my grandma gave me in its place. It bummed me out, but I had a close call in a bar at a bach party a few weeks later. Rando guy was ‘admiring’ my ring as we were being pushed it opposite directions, twisted it, and it would have come off if it were still that loose. There are too many opportunities to lose a loose ring.

I recomend waiting until closer to the wedding or until you’re done losing weight to get it sized, though. Wear a ring huggie til then.

Since high school, I’ve dropped ring sizes from 9 to most recently 7.75.

My high school class ring and college championship rings are sizes 9 & 8.5 and they’re breakdancing on my hands. Very sad.

Also, my boobs are pretty much gone. I went from 36D to a 34B now. Soon, I’ll just have nipples.

hahaha same thing has happened to me! Except SO hasn’t proposed yet lol when I was at my heaviest my ring size was 11 but now that I’ve lost 30 lbs. my ring size is somewhere near 9.5 I told SO to have it sized to 9.75 but maybe by the time he proposes I’ll be a 9 lol

well my ring fit perfectly (just a tiny bit loose) when i got it, now it is a little tight due to the enormous amount of weight i have put on. so losing it should mean the ring fits better, and i don’t have to tug for ages to get it off! have lost 1kg so far, so only about 22 more to go!

I’ve lost 15 pounds and have another 15 pounds to loose.  My ring is starting to get pretty loose.  Unfortunately, I cannot size my ring down any further.  But I’m planning on having sizing balls added to the inside so it won’t spin.

At my heaviest in high school I weighed about 280 and remember my class ring being a size 10. Now it doesn’t even fit on my thumb!

My e-ring was an 8.5 when I first got it, and I weighed about 240, I think. I had to have it sized shortly after, and I have been plateaued around 210 for a while now so it’s a size 8 right now. We also ordered my wedding band in an 8 because there’s no way that size is going to change between now and the wedding.

If I need to size lower in the future they will both go in together and get resized. My jeweler does express sizing so I could have them back in the same day if I paid extra!! 🙂

I have actually lost a lot of weight since the proposal – about forty pounds.  I think I just have fat fingers, though, because my ring still fits perfectly, even though nothing else I own does.

I lost 80lbs between the time that I got engaged and the wedding.  My ring had to be sized down from a 7 to a 5.  I waited until shortly before the wedding to get the ring resized because I didn’t want to have to do it more than once, and I knew I would be losing more weight.  In the meantime, I wore a spacer – hated it, because it either never stayed on, and most of of the time, it wasn’t even enough.  But it helped for the time that I had to wear it instead of potentially damaging my ring by having it resized more than once.
