I just joined Weight Watchers yesterday and have been feeling a little hungrier than normal because the portions are smaller than I what i’m used to taking in. I’m going to try it out for a while though.
The reason I joined is because my fitness has gone down a lot in the past 3 years. By this I mean that I have gained about 20 pounds. I know much of this is because I am not in school anymore running around the city with my books and Ialso drink more alcohol now than when I was a student. Also, now I get to the office and sit ALL DAY.
Anyway, the reason I am sad is because I went from feeling like the “thin girl” to frumpy.
I have started WW and hope that it helps and also have been going to the gym more.
Any other bees notice weight jump up when you finished school or after some other life changing event?

My weight has gone up since I finished school. When I was in school I was walking everywhere or catching the bus, pretty much moving around all the time. Now I drive everywhere and sit at my desk all day. I have gotten back in the swing of exercicing, but its not everyday. I try to get on the treadmill at least 4 times a week just to maintain my weight and I watch what I eat. One thing that has worked for me is to cut out empty calories in things such as soda. I;m trying to use less sugar now in things such as my tea and also buy 100 calories snacks to help.

Once I got my ‘big girl job’, i definitely gained weight! and then gained some more love chub when my Boyfriend or Best Friend and I moved in together.
I have done WW before too and getting used to the smaller portions is the worst, but it goes away pretty quickly. The key for me with WW was popcorn and vegetables. Fatfree microwave popcorn is 1 point, and veggies are 0!!
I also took weekends off (no counting), but I was still concious of not overstuffing myself.
The weight came off slow, but it also came back slower when I stopped 🙂

When I went from college to work, I noticed I gained about 5 pounds. I’d sit ALL day and feel hungry so quickly! It was horrible because I’d be hungry by 11am and over eat. Then be tired by 2:30/3 and have 2 or 3 more hours of work left. Then by 5 I was starving again. The only activity I got was walking to and from my car, then to lunch sometimes.
I heard WW is great! Good luck and you’ll be back to being the ‘skinny girl’ in no time! 🙂
