Oh πŸ™

Can you contact the news station and see if there’s a way to help?

Here’s the article on the ABC affiliate site, KOMO. Lots of comments about helping her out.

ETA: I guess if I’d read enough comments, I’d see where it says, “Viewers’ generous donations to the Problem Solvers fund have now raised enough to help Elsie. If you would like to contribute to the general Problem Solvers Fund to help others in need, visit our donation page here.”

I would also give something. That is just terrible πŸ™

Maybe the newspaper will set up a paypal account for people to donate?

Agreed check the news station.  Or if you google the name, there may be someone else who has already started something for her.  Two words Life Insurance.  Hopefully, she will be ok.  Sad story but what dedication and love!

@Lovemelovemyhorses:  The station has a “Problem Solvers” account to donate to (which has already raised enough money), but I’m not sure where the excess would go, even if you told them to give it to her? Obviously, I would hope that they would honor that, but I don’t know. There’s a link at the bottom of the article that I posted above.

@vorpalette:

Yeah I just saw that, thanks πŸ™‚ I’m glad she won’t have to sell all her things to bury her husband.

Faith in humanity= restored.

@vorpalette:  Thanks for finding this! πŸ™‚

What a sad story, but a very happy ending.  I’m glad viewers raised enough money to help her out.

@Ms.Sugarsnap:  Agreed. Someone did bring up, though, that donations are sometimes considered income by the IRS and she might get taxed for it. :

@Lovemelovemyhorses:

i hate reading sad stories like this.

when my mom died 2 years ago after just turning 57 we could not afford to bury her,we were getting turned down for loans(my dad and i)thank God my my soon to be husband that he was able to get a loan or we wouldnt know what we would do.

if i had the money i would give the lady money to bury her husband

What really pisses me off is that, instead of helping her pay for the funeral, her husband’s niece was going to help her sell her stuff.

Wow, after working in memory care for over six years, tears were streaming down my face! My Fiance asked what was wrong and I shushed him and kept reading. When I was done, I told him and he laughed at me for crying! Lol damn men! I can’t believe her niece and I am soo glad she received the funds!
