I’ve read this before and it’s amazing.  I tear up just thinking about it.  The part that got me the most was her worrying about if she had smiled, or said “I  love you” or kissed the baby.  I can only hope that if my strength/faith is ever tested that I react with half the grace that she and her husband did.  Amazing story of the love that parents have for their baby.

Read this last night, and also had a tears streaming, nose running good cry.  What a beautiful, honest story.  Those pictures were incredible.

@redheadem:  Yes, she is an incredible mom. She knows that in a lot of other countries (sadly, even our own), kids/babies with DS are often institutionalized and/or put up for adoption. She hopes that one day she’ll adopt a one or two more, as she knows that they bring such joy to many, but a lot of people just aren’t prepared to have them as their own.

In all honesty, before her LO was born, had Darling Husband and i gotten pregnant and the baby was diagnosed with Downs, I would have been totally devastated. After this little guy was born, I don’t think Darling Husband and I would even flinch if we were told this same news now. He is just the most wonderful, loveable, happy, smiley little guy we’ve ever met. He is so lucky to have his mom and dad, and they know how lucky they were to have been chosen to have him.

This blog is so beautiful, I’ve read it a couple times now. The pictures and emotions captured are truly out of this world.

Thank you for sharing this. 🙂

@glittermoon:  I agree… when her older little daughter came in and held her sister, I couldn’t stop crying. I know this happens thousands of times a year, but to get up so close, that was just so heartwrenching but also inspirational.
