Can’t wait to move in!
This particular story may have been embellished, but stuff like this does happen. Hiding needles in sandboxes, putting out antifreeze in water bowls, leaving poisoned meat in a park… some people are completely fucked up, and it is SO important to keep your eyes open and be aware of what’s going on around you.

I know as a fellow Canadian, you won’t track dirt in my house and keep your shoes on, lol. So you are welcome any time!
And I agree that even if this story wasn’t true, many are. Some people hate animals to the point of wanting to hurt them (and I really wonder about people like that). I prefer to keep my furbaby on our property.

Right?! It’s so frustrating when people don’t watch their dogs at parks. My dog got bit by a really, really aggressive pit bull a couple of months ago. When it happened, my SO and I snapped into action, but it took the couple whose dog it was a few seconds to even realize what was happening. And then they had to run over from the OTHER SIDE of the park in order to get there. By the time they ran over, we had already gotten their dog off of mine, and they were very apologetic, but I was so upset and angry! If you have an aggressive dog, DON’T bring it around other people’s dogs, and if you do, watch it closely, 100% of the time. We also love the dog park and have made some friend (and so has our dog), but it really sucks when people abuse the privileges or don’t clean up after their dog.

It absolutely boggles my mind how people can hate animals to the point of wanting to hurt them like this. I am not the biggest fan of children, but I would NEVER hurt someone else’s child. Like, NO. So wrong!

Exactly this. Sure, some people may not like dogs. I don’t particularly care for cats (as in I’d never have one in my home) but I’ve never wanted to hurt one. It sounds quite psychopathetic to me. Why would anyone want to hurt an innocent little animal who did nothing wrong? Even when my furbaby eats everything in sight, I don’t want to hurt him. Any of his bad behaviour is my own fault for not correcting properly.

This one may be a hoax, but there is a similar investigation going on in Ottawa right now:
Dog owners have been delivered hand-written threats implying that their dogs will be poisoned. As far as I know, the threats have been empty so far… but even still.
There are some sick, sick people out there 🙁

This happened last year in Boston:
Charlestown Dog Owners Say Landscaper Is Poisoning Their Pets
I know a dog that got sick from the hot dogs, luckily he’s ok.

I love dog parks, its a wonderful way to socialize dogs and get them exercise. I had suspicions this was fake, its like that razerblade in Holloween candy story. People should always be watching their dogs at the parks though, always.

@nber0815: Sadly that is super common around here – and not a hoax. Burglars see dogs as a threat and poison them in order to break in a day or two later. I have personally had a bitch poisoned. Very sad.

OMG I live like 2 miles from there! Thank God we never walk our dog around there, though!

So sad. We dont bring our dogs to the dog park. We have a big field across from us until condos or w.e they decide to put their. But until then thats where ill take my two small dogs.

In england there have been several cases in different neighbourhoods with pets being poisoned with anti-freeze (cats and dogs) so even if this particular case is a hoax, sadly it does happen =(

That is horrible, who would do such a thing?!
For the real incidences that happen I mean. Unfortunately there are some horrible people out there and even though this story is probably a hoax, things like it do happen.
