My fiance and I are getting married on October 20th. I think oranges and reds are beautiful but I don’t want to do them. As soon as I started thinking about our wedding, I thought lavender and sage. What do you all think? I think I should jsut go with my gut, but I would like it to all look nice with everything happening outside.
I’m thinking black dresses with a sage sash and white and sage boquets for the girls. Black tuxes with sage vests and ties and a white and sage flower for the boys. My boquet will have lavender (maybe also other similar shades of purple) and my fiance will have a matching flower.
For room decor I’m thinking lots of ivory, then sage and then pops of lavender

I think those colors sound gorgeous! i think it’s your wedding, and that you shouldn’t have to match your colors to the seasons. Think about all the reds and oranges people use in the summer! I say go for it.

Sounds lovely to me! I don’t think you should feel at all obligated to have fall colors just because it’s October! Plus, I think that any colors that occur in nature, no matter the season, are for the most part harmonious.
Are you set on black dresses? That’s the only thing that catches me.. I think I’d go sage dress with an ivory sash, with just the guys in black.

@Sarabara590: I made a board awhile back that would be good for fall and has lavender and sage in it…just thought I’d put it out there. I made it with a fall wedding in mind

I always said that my colors would be jade and lavender… However, with us having a fall wedding we’re going with darker colors to suit the season. I didn’t like the idea of having oranges and reds. Fall is one of my favorite seasons but I didn’t in any way want to do traditional fall colors. It’s your wedding so do whatever you want! We’re doing plum/eggplant purple, gunmetal gray with hints of ivory, silver, and green. I like your idea of adding black. I think the black would look awesome with the sage and lavender.

Love that board! Thanks for the inspiration. Yes I’m set on black dresses for the girls. I like the look of them in black with just a pop of colour and am not a fan of coloured wedding dresses.
I found my dress now too 🙂
