@jbbs1222:  do you have pics of your other dresses to compare?

@mypinkshoes:  Agreed, I would love to see your dress journey, particularly b/c you’ve been fiscally smart about switching dresses. Much better to buy a dress after selling the other one than the other way around.

no one should be getting married if they have to sneak and steal money from family members, and work on paying them back.

if you can’t afford anything, don’t buy it.

i really don’t get the rush some people have these days!

@BellaDee:  +1, so I’m happy this bride is postponing and only buying after selling. That’s also why I had a 1.5+ year engagement. Although my parents graciously offered to pay for some parts, we’re picking up everything else and need time to pay.

It’s hard to be happy for you when we know you stole money from the G-ma who is letting you stay in her house. And it’s our business because you told it to an internet forum.

Can you take the money you’re putting towards the dress and put it back into the safe?

You’re having money problems to the point where you’re stealing from your grandmother and you’ve now purchased five different dresses? If the wedding is postponed, why are you even focusing on finding (another) dress? I think it’s time to take a step back and get your finances in order.

@jbbs1222:  That’s A LOT OF DRESSES!!! I do have to say that I like the newest pick the most out of all of them, but I wouldnt suggest buying it until you have the wedding date set. Otherwise, you might outgrow your like for it and want something new. And I would for sure pay your family back before buying anything else.

@jbbs1222:  From the pictures, I actually like dress 1 the best. It’s gorgeous, flattering, and oh yeah, gorgeous. Why did you switch in the first place?

Also, have you come clean about the money stealing? Consider the (highly likely) possibility your grandmother has noticed and is heartbroken. =(

@jbbs1222:  i don’t think people are trying to be rude or bitchy, i think people are just shocked that anyone would steal money from their own grandmother’s savings and use it to buy MULTIPLE non-essential luxury items. And then come on the internet fishing for compliments and support.

i just….yeah, no.

@polyblonde:  Except she’s already clarified that she paid for the first dress honestly and the others were purchased with what the previous dress sold for. Grandma doesn’t factor into it.

I’m apalled at how people are commenting on you and your dress. I think the dress is beautiful on you and while your finances are currently unstable, I do understand your situation and think you’re being very responsible. I’ve been in deep trouble before and if I had family with money, I can’t say I wouldn’t be tempted. Congratulations on finding your dress. Don’t let these people get you down. You look incredible.
