Just for the sake of curiousity: are you a swear-er?
I ask because I am.
If only you guys could see how much time goes into editing my posts, because I swear so frequently. And it’s funny- I’m actually very well spoken. My vocabulary is very expansive, and I speak incredibly eloquently. I just happen to swear in between my cleverly worded phrases… a lot.
My ultra conservative parents go nuts about it- they’ve just finally accepted defeat.
To clarify, I do not swear around the elderly and children. I don’t make racial slurs, and I don’t use any derogatory terms directed at the homosexual community.
EVERYTHING else is fair game. FI is just as bad, likely from the military.
I’m notorious for dropping the foresaken “F-bomb,” blasphemy (I won’t in the presence of someone who is religious, but it gets blurted out A LOT at my condo), “c u next tuesday..”
And every other possible combination.
I’m genuinely not an angry person. I’m actually very “happy go lucky.” I just swear constantly!
Anyone else? Surely I’m not the only one here with a severe case of the “Sailor Mouth.”

I am a horrible potty mouth. I think from time to time I should try and clean it up but it never happens. There is just something that dropping the f-bomb. Somethings nothing but a swear will do. Of course not infront of the gparent age group or the kiddies.
So have no fear you are not alone!

ALLLL the time. I omit it from my posts because it’s just not classy but in person? Yea, all the time. It’s going to be hard when we have kids!! :-X

No, not really. I do when I’m frustrated or angry. But… Darling Husband is a Sailor… and knowing his friends I can vouch that the term ‘swears like a Sailor’ is indeed true!

I think you know this…but yeah, I do too. (Although I *typically* am able to edit it out though)

I’m the same way…I’ve sort of outgrown it at this point, but I really have to watch myself sometimes! I have to say…my husband is a sailor, and I swear more than he does (albeit, much less than our other friends in the Navy LOL). I make a HUGE attempt to watch it when we are in public and certainly around kids, though. I like to think that the older I get, the less foul my mouth is…but it is hard to say since maybe I just feel like it is better in comparison to present company at work and with friends. 😉 You aren’t alone!

I used to be….I’m not sure exactly what motivated me to clean it up, but I have over the past few years!

I can be, but not at work!

Guilty as charged. I have a terrible potty mouth. Sigh. Definitely not around the elderly or kids though. I try not to around my parents, but my mom doesn’t care that much (I’m pretty sure she thinks it’s funny). My first career was in film and television, so I pretty much hung out with guys and our transport/trucker guys all day. I could make you blush. LOL!!!

I swear entirely too much for one person. But so does everyone else in my family so I guess I am a product of my enviroment. I have cleaned up lately since my son is starting to repeat things

Guilty. I also have a decently broad vocabulary (more so when writing than speaking, but still) and generally speak “like I have some sense”, but I swear a lot. Everyone close to me knows this about me except my inlaws (I avoid it around them because they stongly disapprove). I don’t swear when it would be inappropriate considering the situation, and, surprisingly, I don’t really have to watch myself. It’s as if speaking politely comes as naturally as my potty mouth based on my surroundings.

I try not to swear a lot on the boards (I can cut out the f-bombs, but it’s really hard to figure out how to convey the same message without minor swears!) but I do in real life.

I am. I noticed last night that I use the F-bomb quite too often. I really don’t mean to. I really need to work on it.

Oh, there’s times I’m sure the things I say would make a sailor blush.

Total sailor mouth here! I’ve really got to try to control it before the little one get here. I don’t want to have THAT kid that cusses and scares old ladies.
