Well, it finally (FINALY!!) happened. A job I applied to actually called me back! I have the interview tomorrow at noon.
It’s a job for a major jewelry retail center. I’m applying for the sales position, and as I recall, I think it is full time, so this is a huge oppurtunity for me. I currently work in retail… but by retail, I mean a grocery store. I have been told that since they obviously already have my resume, and know that I work in grocery retail, then they are at least willing to entertain the thought of training me if I show some promise. But I am nervous because I don’t have much direct selling experience. I do have some instances I plan to highlight… because I think I am somewhat of a “sales person” even in my not-so-salesy position at my current job.
So I am looking for some advice! Anybody had an interview for a similar position, or get into sales with a similar backround? Anybody conduct these sort of interviews? Any questions that I should be familiar with that I wouldn’t neccesarily expect? Any advice would be appreciated. I am working until 8:00 tonight, and then I will be logging on and reviewing the responses, as well as doing my research of the company, etc. etc.
P.S. I have had a sales interview in the past. I made a few mistakes, one of them was underdressing. I’m fairly sure that wont be a problem this time around. I’ve gone the whole nine yards as far as appearance goes 🙂
Please help, Ladies!!!! 😀
