Yes, and it would always kind of bother me.

Yes, but I would get over it.

    Yes, and I would complain.

No, not if it was harmless.

    No, it's just a ring.

Go have a glass of wine and chill out.

It would bother me if a stranger put on my ring! If it’s family or close friends I always tell them they can try it on if they like and it doesn’t bother me. But I totally get it for some to think it’s personal because it is!

Ive never heard of people being bothered about people touching or trying on their ring until I came onto the Bee. It wouldn’t bother me. I probably wouldn’t have even thought about it enough to remember her doing it

I understand why some might think this is trivial (because lets face it, it is). But! This is a big no no to me. I was having a conversation with someone about this recently actually. Trying on other rings? Yes. It just find trying on someone elses engagement ring really weird. Maybe if the sales woman was trying it on to check the size (because she had similar fingers or something) but trying it on just because… A friend got engaged a few years ago. While admiring her ring she asked if I wanted to try it on. No! Definitely not. That’s her engagement ring for her to wear only.

Maybe I’m just weird about the whole thing though haha.

I at first thought you would mean trying it on before you bought it… mine is an antique so it probably been tried on by loads of people – but now it would be wierd because its my engagement ring

same as a dress, you can buy a sample and other have wore it but if you went to pick it up and another girl was wearing it surprised

What you’re describing would probably elicit a small amount of side-eye from me in the moment, but it wouldn’t continue to bother me after I got my ring and left the store. I thought this thread was going to be about some random saleswoman asking to try on your ring while you were out and about shopping, which I absolutely wouldn’t agree to.
