I just made a hasty bridal appointment for tomorrow but the woman charged me $25 to hold my spot. If I purchase a gown it gets taken off, if I don’t purchase it gets returned. I was in a rush to make the appointment so I agreed to it but now in retrospect its a little weird. It’s the only dress shop around here that carries a specific dress so I guess I pressured myself into making the appointment.
Anyone else experience this?

Yes my daughter and I ran across this while looking for her dress. The charge was only put through if you didn’t show up for your appointment . I think it seems reasonable if a salon is blocking out a consultant and hours for you on a particular day.

Since they give it back so long as you show up, I think it’s ok. It wouldn’t be cool if they didn’t give it back if you came but didn’t buy a dress. I mean, my hair salon does something similar – they keep a credit card on file, and if you don’t give at least 24 hours notice for a cencelation, you still get charged for your appointment. Keeps people from canceling when the salon can’t re-fill the appointment, you know?

Makes sense. Most sales people work on commission and they must get lots of people flake out and waste their time!
