Kendrao: sure it’s the same dress and not a replica?

Kendrao:  If it only costs $200 it is a replica. Neither the workmanship nor the materials will be anywhere close to the original.

Some brides make this choice, just be realistic about your expectations. Also, do lots of research to see what chance you have of actually getting a refund if you don’t like the dress.

If you do order that dress online it will be a replica. Keep in mind, if you do decide to buy it, how long will it take to arrive? Would you have enough time to get a new dress if you do not like it?

Look up “wedding gown china replica horror stories”. That alone made me rething ordering online at a cheaper rate.  There are a few shops that seem reputable that a few bees here have used. Do some reasearch and decide what’s best.

Kendrao:  that’s what I thought, but I didn’t want to assume. A replica isn’t the same dress, but rather is an approximation 🙂

Kendrao:  Do you have a pic of the dress? You can get a deal with a replica, but often the simpler the dress, the better it will turn out. I’d also look into a reputable replica dress shop.

Would you wear a preowned or sample dress? You might be able to find the style you want on ebay as preowned? Just a thought. I know some people have good stories about ordering from China, but I think it’s probably too big a risk.

I had a dress made from China. There are more success stories than horror stories out there. My dress is fantastic better made and quality than a store bought wedding dress I bought.

I ordered a china replica dress from kiss dresses and I LOVE it. It’s absolutely perfect, and I got an amazing deal, and I couldn’t be happier. I have also ordered a bridesmaid dress on ebay for a wedding I was in, and was very happiy with the quailty. It’s a lot cheaper because it’s knock off so you aren’t paying for the designer name. That said the quality may not be up to par. For example I’ve read a lot of reviews that say highly intricate beading is often simplified on replicas. If you post a picture of the dress I’ll be able to estimate how close a replica would resemble it better, but in most cases I say absolutely go for it, the risk is worth the reward imo. Personally my dress is great quality (like 8 layers, of gorgeousness, and beading and lace details throughout).
