Get whatever you like. Even less to worry about as it sounds like you didn’t get the ring before anyway.

If you wore the ring and then picked an identical solitaire setting, maybe a bit weird. But, just because it is a solitaire does not make it weird. Get what you love.

A solitaire is an extremely classic and popular engagement ring style! Of course you can still have one in future. It’s not like he had a whole custom design that you’re reusing, you never even saw it.
