So months ago, I tried on a White by Vera Wang dress at David’s Bridal in the sample size 2 and it fit perfectly. The bodice felt very streamlined against my chest and waist and the “crumbcatcher” netting laid flat.
So I went and ordered it and it arrived within two weeks. I felt very rushed when I picked it up. I pretty much just checked for any signs of wear and tear but found that it was brand new. I did try it on, but that was when I was rushed because the salespeople were getting hit with the prom crowd. So I said everything looked good and walked out with the dress in tow.
Fast forward to now, I just tried on the dress just to see what shoes would go with it. I realized that the bodice was fitting poorly compared to the sample. It didn’t hug my curves–in fact, it seemed like it jutted out. The crumbcatcher didn’t lie flat. One side looks like there is a lump underneath. It just felt loose all around.
So what should I do? I hadn’t expected to get any alterations done on the bodice because the sample had fit just that perfectly and plus, there is a lot of beadwork and embroidery so it would be difficult to adjust. Should I just try to ignore it or should I go back to David’s Bridal and see if there is anything that can be done?
Thanks in advance.
