Usually sample dresses have been tried on by a lot of people and are standard sizes so you might have to alter it to fit instead of getting one close to your measurements.

Samples are the dresses that dress shops hang in the stores for brides to try on. They sell them when they need to turn over their inventory for new collections. My dress is a sampled from Kleinfield. You usually end up paying much less for a sample than a new dress ordered from the designer.

A sample, depending on your size, can usually be tailored to fit you (its generally better to be smaller than the sample because some dresses cannot be let out). Just make sure there aren’t any major flaws with it (stains, etc.) and you should be good to go! Mine had a corset loop that was unattached – but that’s not a problem to fix.

I bought a sample dress, and it saved me a ton of money!  There are a few little things that need to be fixed, but nothing that a good seamstress can’t fix! Because so many brides tried my dress on before me, some of the details need to be re-attached. My dress disn’t have any stains on my dress, but I have heard that baby whips will remove most stains 🙂
