grace14:  My sample sale experience was great (with the exception of 1 store, but needless to say, I didn’t buy from them). Depending on the store, they will generally carry say a dozen or more dresses in each size. You can even go up a size and look at what they carry and have it altered to fit without changing the style of the dress too much. Keep in mind that if you find THE ONE, and its only available as a sample dress not in your size (say in a 12), they might not have a sample closer to your size in which case you’d have to order it, and you might not get the great deal so only look close to your size.

I don’t know how easily available your particular size is, so I can’t really comment on that, plus it depends on the store itself, but I was between a 10-12 if that helps and had lots to choose from.
Most of the stores I went to had dresses all the way from 0-20 and had a great selection in each size.

I purchased my dress from a sample sale and it was in great shape! Plus I got it for 90% off (and I was limited with my budget)!
When looking at dresses, keep in mind:
1. discolouration from being worn too much
2. loose threads
3. rips/tears
4. missing buttons/sequins/beading/etc
5. How much you need to do in alterations (if any)

Also, if you have one particular dress in mind, go early so you can make sure you get it. Otherwise, wait until later (the afternoon for example), when it is quieter.

Hope that helps 🙂

I love sample sales! You can get designer dresses at a huge bargain! They are a little crazy, but definetly worth it! Also see if they have an dresses where the bride cancled her order, because those havemost likely never been tried on before!

The way I learned about sample sales is through FaceBook. I find many of the stores advertise their sales that way and sometimes give you a sneak peak at some dresses that will be on sale and for what price! So be sure to “like” some of the pages of some local bridal salons in your area. Knowing when they were having the sale in advance was good because I have a 4hour drive away from my closest bridal salon so we needed to plan an overnight trip if we were going to one!

The store I bought from, I just happened to come across as my friend and I went driving around to go try on dresses and they had a sign out front saying all dresses were 90% off! So we knew we had to go in!

Another option is to call some places and find out if they have any sales coming up.
