I am using Sam’s Club but since we are both getting married the same day, I won’t be able to review or post pics until our wedding day.  I am ordering 125 orange roses to make my bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, and 10 centerpieces.  My mom is a Sam’a Club member so I am using her membership to order and having them delivered the Thursday before the wedding so I can make everything Friday night.

@janinaPK:  I ordered my roses from Amazon, and they were PERFECT.  I used Global Rose; their storefront is here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=0&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=102-0199367-0957870&seller=A10M4NDDUOLLKL

They were flexible about the delivery, the roses came a bit early but were perfect for the day of, the quality of the flowers was good.  We also ordered ranunculus from I think Whole Blossoms or something like that, but I would not recommend them.  The flowers were dry and greenish, and did not reflect the pictures.

I’m in the Los Angeles area, and I went to the wholesale flower district downtown. I’d imagine NY has one, too. For us there was a $2 fee if you’re not a wholesaler. I got all of my wedding flowers for $350 and we arranged them the day before.

@janinaPK:  I had no idea about the issues with customs.  I would assume that if they don’t come in on time, I can refuse delivery and request a refund since I am ordering early enough that they should be able to figure out the customs issue (or the shutdown will be over; I am crossing my fingers it ends sometime next week along with the debt celing issue since it’s holding up my duty free booze order.)

@janinaPK:  I would have preferred Costco because I love Costco in general and shop there a lot.  I am a member and shop there often.  I have concerns over some Walmart business and employment practices, and Sams is part of Walmart, so I would have preferred not to buy from them.  But I wanted the packages they had, so I ended up using my mom’s membership and buying from them anyway.

In response to someone asking about customs, I had no issues with customs.  The flowers shipped from Miami, although originated in Ecuador and Colombia.

I ordered garden roses from Fiftyflowers in 3 varieties. They were beautiful!! Came in on time and opened perfectly, one of the varieties was smaller than what I had thought, but beautiful none the less. I do have a write-up on the whole experience in the diy section.

A friend of mine purchased rannunculus from Sam’s Club and also had a great experience.

@janinaPK I ordered my DIY-flowers from Costco and they were fantastic. I did not purchase roses from them, however I did buy hydrangeas and baby’s breath. I didn’t have 1 bad flower in the entire bunch! They arrived exactly on time and were gorgeous. I plan on doing a review sometime this week, once I get the hard-copies of my pro-pics back. But moral of the story – I would HIGHLY recommend Costco.

@janinaPK Absolutely! I chose for them to arrive on a Friday morning (Sunday wedding) and they arrived at 10-ish AM on that Friday!

I got mine from costco and fifty flowers… They were all gorgeous and not a single dead flower. I’ll post pics when I get some!

My fiance and I bought flowers for our engagement dinner centerpieces with roses from Costco. They were beautiful. So fresh and crisp. Not a single, or even wilted rose. I plan on going there tomorrow with my mom to look at their wedding packages. Wanna see how their prices and work compare with stand alone florists. As of right now, I’m thinking they’re the way to go.

And I second their customer service, it was wonderful.
