They do cakes to order, they may do cupcake flavors that way too. Go ask, it can’t hurt! Never had their cupcakes before. You will just have to be careful about their icing. Every cake I’ve seen from there was extremely cartoon colored. Very vibrant, neon even. So if you want more subtle colors, you may want to buy them and do the icing yourself if they can’t do a color you want. Unless you are using those colors… May work out. Their icing is also super super sweet. I’d taste them before I committed.

I work kind of in the bakery at a Sam’s club, and their cupcakes are pretty good.  They are either chocolate or white, you can do half and half. They also have either buttercream or a whipped icing available(in a variety of colors).  Some of the clubs will do fillings in them for a little more, but ours doesn’t.

@AJester2:  the bright/super sweet icing is the buttercream, where the whipped is more of a cool whip type frosting with more subtle colors

I have had Sams Club cupcakes before and their cakes before several times because we’re members there.  I enjoy them.  I really like Costco’s cake too so check that out also LOL!  Not sure on flavors but I think we usually always got chocolate or vanilla.  I’d just ask =)

I’m sure it varies from one to another, but the cakes/cupcakes at my local Sam’s club are very dry and the icing is overly sweet IMO. Don’t get me wrong, I love sweets, but I like icing to have its own taste rather than just tasting like sugar. I don’t know anyone who used them for a wedding, but several people I know have used them for showers. I agree with PP, you should get a few to sample before committing.

Someone bought them for my bridal shower, they were good, and they were able to do my wedding colors.

We had them at our wedding – I did not care at all about the cake, and we got so many compliments on them! They were really, really good!

i haven’t had their cake but I have heard that they and also Costco both have good cake. Someone actually suggested that we do either a faux cake, or just a small real cake, and then actually have our servers serve pre-sliced sheet cake to guests. I entertained the idea of it for awhile and would have actually done it, but we found someone to do our cake for super cheap.

My Future Sister-In-Law had Sam’s Club cupcakes at her wedding. I went with my Fiance, Future Mother-In-Law, and Future Father-In-Law to order them and we had a choice of flavor and icing. It wasn’t as big of a selection as a bakery, but choices none the less. They were surprisingly really really good! We put some sparkle sprinkles on top and put cute cupcake wrappers over the plain ones they were baked in to fancy them up a bit. If I hadn’t been there to order them, I would have never guessed they weren’t from a fancy bakery.

While they aren’t going to be as much of a variety as a baker, personally they are quite tasty. If we hadn’t found a girl just starting who could do more flavors for cheap we were going to have then for ours.

@Robin_Sparkles:  Your excitement over these cupcakes is so cute. I was giggling while reading your original post. Thanks for making me smile!
