I know there are more of you SD gals out there:) Share a little about yourself!
i’m in SD! but i’m having my wedding back in my hometown in MI =). i’d love some tips for places to check out in SD for non-location dependent goods, like attendant outfits (both our Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man will be coming to visit us during the summer and we’d like to nail out some wedding deets while they’re in town), favors, etc. and maybe just things to do in SD, haha…Fiance and I are new transplants to the area =).
Another San Diego girl here! I am loving these local boards!
yayy! there are some of you out there! I’ll tell you a little about me…I currently live in Pasadena, but grew up in Encinitas and I’m moving back in a couple weeks! Our wedding will be in Temecula at the Temecula Creek Inn…what about you guys?
I live in North Park next to Morley Field/Zoo. I’m getting married in Coronado on Labor Day. I’m really lucky to have some of the best vendors in San Diego probably the whole world
Thomas Bui is my coordinator.
The Image is Found are my photogs.
Cakes by Extraordinary Desserts.
Venue is the Coronado Community Center.
My caterer is Thespicycreations.com (my chef when I was Dir of Catering for Sevilla)
I flew to San Fran to take a DIY flower class with Huckleberry Karen ($90 round trip on virgin america!)
Music by my FH’s jazz group (I’ll play the triangle) & DJ from Craig’s Crew
Craig’s Crew (From Pasadena) Wedding hitmen – set up & breakdown
Mini-Moon Jim Russell formula 1 racing school & Sonoma
Prauge & Venice for the Honeymoon
Did I miss anything? That’s the plan in a nutshell
Yum, I bought the most decadent chocolate cake for FH’s birthday at Extraordinary Desserts. How fabulous to have them doing your wedding cake =)!
Hey Fadedblue! Welcome to San Diego! This is in response to your first post: For attendants attire, I have only checked out one place and it was just so so. My wedding is in May 2009 so I have only begun checking out bridesmaid dresses. I went to Bella Bridesmaids in La Jolla because they have some Melissa Sweet dresses I really like. The store is really tiny, but I had visited their LA store before and I will probably go through them if I decide to buy. Now stuff to do in SD! You guys could go to Old Town and grab margaritas, go to Mission Bay, walk around Encinitas (my hood!), grab a sunset dinner or drinks at Posiden in Del Mar, ect. Hope you are liking San Diego so far!
San Diego bride here too….Just getting started. Haven’t even set a date yet…but wedding bee has been quite the eye opener about all I have left to do 🙂 Exciting!
i’m a san diego bride!
i’m currently a student in the bay area, but Fiance and both of our families are down here in san diego, so i go back and forth a lot.
our wedding will be in san diego next summer (probably august 09). i’m so excited. 🙂
Like FadedBlue I am a new San Dieagan planning a wedding out of state. My finance and I had been living in Brooklyn for years and we moved out here about a year ago so he could attend law school. We are getting married in Texas, where our families are, in May 2009.
I am very excited about the SD board!
Congrats MissRojo! Sounds like you’ve got things all wrapped up! The Coronado Community Center is a great venue.
We are getting married in Temecula next April at the Falkner Winery. As we live in Colorado, this is a long distance wedding for us. I would love to hear about various vendors in the North San Diego area. Any recommendations for an officiant?
Miss Rojo, does your FH jazz band play at weddings? ;+)
Fiance lives in San Diego. I am trying to get a job in SD so I can live there too. For now, I just live there part time. We are hoping for a Northern California winery wedding, but nothing’s set in stone yet. Even if we have the winery wedding, we will still have another get together in San Diego, so we are still interested in SD vendors and info.
