My oldest sister had her wedding at Hotel Del Coronado (16 yrs ago, lol,) and then my middle brother proposed to my now sister-in-law at Hotel Del as well (6 yrs ago.) I haven’t honey/minimooned there however I have stayed there with my family a couple of times.  Its part of Coronado Island which is absolutely gorgeous.  Hotel Del is famous for a number of reasons and therefore its quite expensive.  There is a beautiful Loews Resort on the island as well.

For a family vaca, honeymoon, minimoon, Destination Wedding – – Coronado Island is stunning!!!

Just so you know, you can get married in Coronado and not pay the really steep Hotel Del price, unless that is what you want and can afford.  If you google either the port of san diego or maybe it’s coronado parks and recreation, actually I think that’s what it is, there are some parks that are available and plenty of beautiful beaches that aren’t on Hotel Del property. I am planning on taking my wedding photos on a different side of Coronado island which instead of facing out to the ocean, faces the bay of san diego and you would have the whole san diego city skyline in the background which is very beautiful.  Good luck with all!

I went to a wedding last year at the Hotel Del and there were pros and cons.  It was beautiful, but the wedding took place right in the middle of the hotel on the beach.  people were basically walking right through the wedding recessional and guests of the hotel were hoovering and taking pictures.  the scenery is very beautiful so if you can manage to eliminate the “public forum” I would definitely do it!
