You might get more responses if people can see pics of the dresses

Pronovias – http://www.theweddingshop.co.uk/images/bride/pr_daifa_x.jpg

San Patrick Baltico – http://www.abdominguez.com/Albums/San%20Patrick/album/slides/Baltico.html

The San Patrick looks like it might be SLIGHTLY more fitted and less full at the bottom then the Pronovias -which may be why they say it’s a mermaid/trumpet shape.  But IMO it’s not super mermaidy or trumpety.

Honestly those dresses are so similiar…if you have your heart set on that style I would go with whichever one is cheaper and/or whichever one offers the best quality for the price.

There are tons of dresses out there that are more mermaid-y and trumpet-y, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I’d keep looking. The first one looks a little cheap to me. Sorry! For some reason, shiny=cheap to me.

Maybe I don’t have good designer eye..but those two look identical to me… I would go for the cheaper one.

San Patrick is a sister company of Pronovias, making similar and virtually identical styles to Pronovias in cheaper fabrics.

The Pronovias Daifa is made of silk and the San Patrick Baltico is made of a cheaper fabric (maybe a heavy satin??).

Baltico may seem like it’s more fitted in the pic because of the flowy nature of the fabric, it drapes  the body better than silk which has a little more structure.

Have you seen the other picture of Daifa with the model standing against the tree? http://www.brides.com/fashion/dresses/gallery/wedding_dresses/vendor/designer/pronovias/detail/164185

I’ve ordered Daifa for my wedding so I’m biased 🙂

The Baltico is actually silk dupioni and it’s very light.  I ordered it a few weeks ago. It’s not cheap looking at all in person, it just has a slight sheen.  As far as shape, it’s not a true mermaid.  On one side of the dress it hugs the body in a mermaid shape, but not the other.

FYI, if anyone is interested, I am selling a BRAND NEW Daifa (size 12) with the original tags still attached. I’m asking $800 + shipping, and the dress comes with a gorgeous matching lace bolero!

Please email me at [email protected] if you would like to see photos 🙂
