There is also an hourglass that can be used also. I am considering doing that.

@futmrsbing27:  Are you planning on making your own or buying one? I haven’t figured out a way to change the pictures if I wanted to in the Box. I haven’t decided how long I want the speech to be yet either. Every time I think about the vows or my toast to my parents, I get a little teary-eyed. Lol.

I agree….if you want it longer than the basic stuff, it would probably be best for you to sit down and write from your heart. Good luck with that!

Hmm…sorry no ideas for you. I’ve still got 10 months to hash out the tiny details! Lol

My Darling Husband and I had a unity-sand ceremony at our wedding.  We found it to be extremely meaningful.

We ordered a unity-sand kit that included three small, glass vials and one larger glass container that was engraved with our names and wedding date.  The kit also came with our choice of three colors of sand. We chose white to represent God, along with one color each to represent my Darling Husband and me.

The pastor poured a thick layer of the white sand first, on the bottom, to represent God as the foundation of our marriage. After Darling Husband and I took turns pouring our individual sand colors in small amounts to create a number of layers of our two sand colors, the pastor then poured the remainder of the white sand on top, representing God’s headship and covering of our marrige.

My DH also is a pastor, and he actually wrote the sand ceremony that my pastor used during our wedding.
