Hope your wedding planning is going WELL!
I have a question. Is it weird to have a sand ceremony when we are not getting married on the beach?? I never really like the unity candle ceremony, and I discovered the sand ceremony after we were engaged and I started prowling the interenet like a mad man for ideas. And I fell in love with the idea of it. Pouring sand into a jar and making cool designs and keeping it forever is something I LOVED as a child, and I thought it would be lovely to incorporate it in our wedding…
But it never clicked for me that sand ceremonies were kind of a “beach wedding thing”. Our ceremony will be outdoors in Arizona….but not at a beach…we are in arizona….so is it weird? or is it ok?
Let me know what you all think!

Well, I know for a fact my best friend is doing a sand pouring ceremony, because I’m singing during it. And her wedding is indoors in suburban, not-by-the-water Maryland. So I think it’s really something anyone can do!

We had a sand ceremony no where near a beach and in the middle of winter. I just really liked the idea of them and love the decor it adds to our home.

@arabbel: Well thats cool!!! That you are singing during it I mean! And thank you, that makes me feel better!
@CherryWaves: Same here. I think it would be a great addition to our home, and I just think it is a really sweet ceremony! Thank you!

@desiree.0615: At Last I See the Light, from Tangled, haha. Her to-be brother in law will be doing the guy’s part and playing guitar.
Actually, she went a little crazy with having me sing – I’m also doing three other songs during the reception. Not that I mind doing it, I love singing, I just don’t want her wedding to be focused on me instead of her at all, hahaha.

@desiree.0615: My daughter has decided to do a sand ceremony. The ceremony is in a botanical gardens (so no beach). She chose this because all of their 3 children will each have a vase and pour sand into jar along with her and the groom. Kind of a uniting of two families.
Also, we thought about a candle, but because it was outdoors, we were worried that if was breezy….. not a good look if the candle blows out
