Im looking into where we want to do our honeymoon and we agree on the Caribbean and want to be somewhere fun, sexy and offers the chance for some topless sunbathing (he likes me to be topless, I love to see his reaction plus I’ll admit I’m a bit of an exibitionist at heart).
Anyone have experience at either of these resorts?
Does the private island at Bahamas offer topless/nude sunbathing?
The other option would be Negril and think about a pass to Hedonism, anyone have info on this?
Thanks as always!

I doubt any Sandals resorts allow topless sunbathing to be honest. If you want to do that you might want to check out European beaches. Or Miami beach.

I’ve been to several sandals resorts, and I gotta say id be very surprised if they allowed topless sunbathing. They are more conservative. However, you should have no problems at all at Hedonism Negril.

We went to Negril, Jamaica to get married and to honeymoon while there. We were at Swept Away, and while the rules stated that topless sun bathing was allowed on the beach, it was not allowed in the pools, and no one did it while I was there (I was not brave!). I think Couples Negril, just up the beach, had a more clothing optional area, and I know that Couples Tower Isle, on the Ocho Rios side of the island has a totally nude beach on a small island that is part of the resort. I’ve seen photos of ladies topless at Swept Away pics, and know some do it. It’s just so laid back I think most people would not care – I am plus-sized and decided to not care and wore my two pieces the whole time because my H likes them – there seemed to be little body consciousness – just people relaxing and having fun.
And, hopefully without it being too Too Much Information, the patios are generously sized while still being mostly private, and there are plenty of semi-secluded areas around 🙂
Our friends went to Sandals Bahamas and had fun, which was how we started our research for a “wedding-moon” trip. We chose Negril, Jamaica over the Bahamas partly for the expense – the Bahamas had higher wedding fees and a longer required stay before the wedding could be performed, and our travel agent put us on to Couples instead of Sandals, because they spend less on ads they charge less for rooms. For the price of a garden room at Sandals I can stay at the beachfront at Couples. Also, the room categories at Sandals kinda confused me – Couples rooms are pretty much priced on how close you are to the beach, and if you have a walk in shower or bathtub, and if you want TV (many people seem to unplug while there). We got a Beachfront Verandah Room and it was comfortable, gorgeous view, right by the beach AND the hot tub, and near the middle of all the other areas of the resort so we had very little distance to cover to get to meals or to the included watersports (snorkleing, atamaran cruises at sunset, etc.)
We loved Couples, and are planning to head back every few anniversaries or so as we can.

Regarding Hedonism – I kinda pegged that as a swingers resort. If that’s your thing – go for it, but be warned if you want just a little excitement but not things that may include leaving room keys in a bowl. 🙂
