One of my very good friends just went on her honeymoon there last month. She was a member here, but she didn’t post much… maybe she will find this and be able to help you!

I was at Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia 3 years ago and fell in love with the island!  That trip was my first Sandals vacation and my fiance (boyfriend at the time).  Since then we have visited 3 other Sandals resorts.  St. Lucia was by far my favorite island.  Halcyon, La Toc, and Grande are all about a 10/15 minute shuttle apart from one another and you can hop back and fourth between them as you please.  The restaurants are great, the food as a whole is very, very good (and this is coming from a restaurant owner).  Halcyon is the lesser expensive of the three, also smaller and needs the most updates.  We had a lower level room and it was still absolutely perfect, however.  La Toc is the larger of the three.  This was my favorite of all of them.  As a matter of fact, this was my favorite of any Sandals resorts we have been to (with Antigua close behind).  The swim up bar at the main pool is so much fun.  The staff is hilarous and super accomodating. The spa is insane, we had the best couples massage here. The only thing that might be the slightest problem is that the resort is so large that you may have to take a shuttle (up and down a steep hill) to get to your room, unless your room is located in the large building by the main pool (which, for a honeymoon I would not recommend because it can be very loud and you don’t have that romantic “escape” feeling.  The hill does not bother me and I would be very happy staying at one of the BEAUTIFUL suites on the hill, however my hubby to be would probably get annoyed with having to constantly walk up and down a hill or wait for a shuttle.  The Grande is smaller than La Toc but much larger than Halcyon.  It was beautiful, especially at night, however we felt an overall stuffyness to the people staying there.  Its a little bit quieter, but very sophisticated.

Most days we hung out at the resorts, mostly by the pools because the ocean was very rough that week and the red flags were up.  We did one excursion which we booked through sandals.  I forget what the name of it was but we were picked up at the resort along with 3 ther couples and taken on an open roofed suv that you can either sit or stand in. It was a tour where we were taken through the rainforest.  we stopped occationally to try local fruit from small stands along the road.  We had a short hike where we were brought to a waterfall.  At the end we had lunch in a small town.  It was SUCH a great excursion…half day, great sights, short hike, perfect. We made so many friends and fell in love with the island.  What I love about St. Lucia is that it has a slightly more exotic feel than other islands in the carribean.  Best of luck planning, hope this helps!
