We’re getting married at Sandals in the Bahamas and the photos are the one thing I am worried about as well.  I posted another thread not too long ago and I believe a couple of Sandals brides shared photos and that put some of my fears to rest… ๐Ÿ™‚

@badabing88:  Sandals is most def AI. ๐Ÿ™‚  That was one of our requirements as we are cheap bastards. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We basically did the minimum night stay to get the free wedding package (told ya…lol)  They do let you customize stuff and also they give you different locales of where you can get married, etc.  The Sandals site has a whole section for weddings which is pretty informative.

Have you looked at Secrets Resorts? http://www.secretsresorts.com/

A friend of mine honeymooned at one of their hotels and the photos look stunning. They *only* offer AI too, so that’s that covered Smile

@badabing88:  I definitely second Secrets if you’re looking for something budget friendly. My Fiance and I stayed at Seacrets in Montego Bay. We saw a wedding there on the beach and it looked beautiful, not to mention the hotel was really nice too. When we were looking into where to stay in Jamaica, Sandals was way more expensive than Secrets.

@badabing88:  I am getting married at Sandals Negril next summer.  We kinda went to the travel agent and this was her suggestion, i didn’t look much into it before booking.  A few words of caution.  They don’t allow offsite photographers.  I obviously found this out AFTER booking. They have their resort photographers (yea, no…don’t trust them) and they offer 4 “partners photographers…these are the offsite photographers they allow.  Prices were over 2500 per 4 hours (i called to cover the bases)…Money Mouth.  To get around this, we have booked a photographer local to Negril and we are leaving directly after the ceremony and doing 3 hours of photos around Negril! Should be pretty fun…but since my photog is not allowed on Sandals property, we are still forced to buy the smallest package from Sandals to ensure we at least get a FEW pics of the ceremony.

Me and Fiance are eloping, so we didn’t need any of the wedding reception crap, so i cannot vouch for any of that.  Also they give you a free wedding package with a required night stay (can’t remember how many nights), OR you can take a 500 dollar credit, but it must include price of cake…which the cheapest is 275…LOL.  Their flower section was pretty abysmal + expensive, therefore i’m doing natural touch bouquets and bringing down with me.  I just had my first phone consultation with my WC, and she was extremely nice and didn’t try to talk us into anything we don’t need, so that is a PLUS.

We booked one of the highest room categories and we have a BUTLER! So excited about that, but wedding wise, i feel very stiffled.  I don’t feel like i have many choices.  If you are pretty simple and one of their packages work for you i think it’s great.  I also think our trip as a whole is going to be pretty freakin awesome and i have worked around the things that i don’t like about Sandals.

Just want you to be fully informed.  Here is the place where u can kinda see the options.

@badabing88: So I can’t attest to wedding planning but I can talk about locale! We normally don’t do AIs because Fiance isn’t a drinker. But! I’ve been to Sandals in Bahamas before – great chain for AI hotels.

A friend honeymooned at Sandals St. Lucia and she said it was amazing and enjoyed it more than her vacation in bahamas.

I haven’t been to Sandals Negril – but I’ve been to Negril 6 times and it is one of my FAVORITE vacation spots. Jamaica is a friggin awesome island and Negril is incredible.

And my FAVORITE island – pushing Jamaica out of the way by a narrow margin – Grenada! There’s a sandals that is opening up this winter. I have nothing but positive things to say about the island and the people of Grenada. And I believe this is the first chain hotel that will be on the island. I kind of hate that it’s becoming more commercialized because that means more people will be visiting – buuuut I guess it’s a good thing for the country’s economy lol. I’m just being selfish.

Most resorts don’t allow outside photographers. A lot of brides get around this by bringing a photographer as a guest. But, there’s no reason not to trust the onsite photographers! They know the resorts well, and know the best spots to get the perfect photos taken, where the best lighting is, etc.
