Mine is a purple sapphire. I chose a sapphire because they are very hard and they are the next hardest stone after a diamond. Not only is it a beautiful stone, but they cost a fraction of what a diamond does and it also makes your ring unique. I have had SOOOO many compliments on my ring and no one has mistaken it for anything but an engagement ring. Here is a picture.

@lavender333: Oh ok gotcha! Anyways, I definitely love gemstone e-rings and don’t think anyone will confuse it for anything else! I think you should get a new ring rather than re-set your promise ring. Then you have two, separate rings with different meanings and different sentiment.

This one is sterling silver instead of white gold, but I think it’s so beautiful and very budget-friendly! http://www.etsy.com/listing/75915844/pink-sapphire-and-sterling-silver-ring?ref=sr_gallery_7&ga_search_query=pink+sapphire+ring&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_min=&ga_max=200&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

@lavender333: Oh good! Yeah I love the halo setting! I am biased because I have a halo ring, but I think you have so many options with gemstones!

WOW. We have a lot of similarities! My boyfriend and I have been together about the same amount of time and I’m currently waiting for my ring ๐Ÿ™‚ We already did the shopping!

I also wanted something with a little more color – my boyfriend also doesn’t like colorless stones.

I say go for the pink Sapphire  (I went with blue) but get it in a new ring. Don’t reset your old one. It is a really beautiful promise ring though! Keep it as a sentimental heirloom ( or a right hand ring ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

I’m not sure what your budget is… but here are some other pretty rings too!

( I want this first one as a right hand ring!)
