OH I am so on this! Like white on rice!

I have always loved the color blue! Blue this and blue that! When thinking about an e-ring nothing else seemed right for me. i don’t wear rings…only my college ring, which I love, has a blue sapphire center.

My Fiance was innitially quite frightened by the cost fo a diamond and was quite releaved when I showed him I wanted a sapphire. He was like “That’s an engagement ring?” and I told him anything could be an engagement ring. that Sapphire is what I wanted and nothing else would do.

I gave him 3 choices by email and one day he picked out this beauty.

Don’t worry about your family and their snide comments. They are probably ignorant to whole Diamond-monopoly-scam the diamond industry has with rings. Sapphires mean sincerity, fidelity and true love. Sapphires and many other gemstones were widely used hundreds of years ago for engagement rings. By The Way…that is in natural light…no flash.

And just because I love it so much…my college ring.

ETA: is your ring from Angara? That looks like an Angara ring. My ring is from Angara too.

@sapphirecupcake:  I wouldn’t worry about it. Stop trying to explain your choice. Just wear it proudly once he gives it to you.

@sapphirecupcake:  Um, hello? You’re from/living in the UK and the biggest royal celebrity, Duchess Catherine, had a sapphire engagement ring!

@sapphirecupcake:  That is a gorgeous ring.  Tell them that if Princess Diana (and later Duchess Kate) can do it, then so can you!  It’s royalty!

It’s a beautiful ring, and still looks very much like a traditional engagement ring ^^ Sometimes people don’t understand that Erings don’t /have/ to be a diamond, and I think they are wierd :3 (not that wanting only a diamond is in anyway bad).

I don’t have an Ering to share :c (haha) and I don’t know what colour it would be but I’m definately hopeing for something other than a diamond because I love colour! 8D

Anyway, don’t worry about your family, just love your ring <3

The ring you picked out is beautiful!!  My FH didn’t like the idea that he had to buy me a diamond ring because that’s just what you’re supposed to do when you get engaged.  I’m not a big jewelry person, didn’t really care about the stone, just wanted something pretty ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love my sapphire ring!  It’s different than the ‘typical’ ring and that’s one of my favorite things about it  (sorry, I don’t know how to make pic smaller)

@sapphirecupcake:  Do you have an idea as to WHY they would say such a thing?

By The Way: thank you. I do love it very much…and the man who gave it to me

I do not have a sapphire engagement ring – I have a ruby instead. People are generally nice when they ask why I chose ruby instead a diamond. Here are my reasons: It’s my birthstone, red is my favorite color, and my suits my personality better than a diamond.

By the way, gemstones are actually more traditional than diamonds.
