I can finally play! I’ve always wanted a sapphire ring and I finally got one for my wedding ring. It’s a 3 stone sapphire ring with lovely scroll work down the sides.

Here’s mine: Set in 18ct yellow gold, with a 0.57 ct bezel set centre diamond of the highest clarity and clearest colour. Surrounded by 8 claw-set custom diamond-cut sapphires of the highest clarity and deepest blue colour possible. Finished off with 6 custom-cut marquee diamonds.

mildlybookish:  I absolutely love the color of your sapphire! May I ask where you/your fiance bought it from? I’m looking for the exact same color for my ering!

camiyu86:  Thanks! We got it from Ben Moss, which is a jewellery store in Canada. I had picked out an e-ring setting that I liked and asked them to put a sapphire in the centre instead of the diamond.

The first stone that was in there was a lot darker, almost black. I kept it for a couple of weeks, but you could barely see any blue at all. I took it back and they replaced the stone for me. I brought in a photo of the shade of blue that I was looking for. In the direct light it is light like what’s in the photo, but in regular lighting it’s a bit darker (but no where near the original).

mildlybookish:  I too am a fan of the “lighter” shade of sapphire blue! Yours is perfect. From a bit of googling, it seems like it’s called ceylon blue?
