    Alternating rubies and diamonds/moissanite

A plain gold or diamond/moissanite band, with hopes for a future ruby or sapphire anniversary ring

Sapphires AND rubies, because of the symbolism

@Over the Moon:  I love those rings you posted, including the rubies set with diamonds in the white metal (despite my comment to the contrary, above)! Gorgeous!

@lilyhofstadter:  The ruby band is from Gabriel and Co, and the sapphires are from Jewels by Erica Grace. ๐Ÿ™‚

@lilyhofstadter:  I vote all ruby or all sapphire. I am in love with rubies, though so I’m biased towards that ๐Ÿ™‚

I voted for option 2!  Love rubies. ๐Ÿ™‚

ETA: I know a few friends in real life who have sapphires in their bands and they’re beautiful, so I voted for rubies in part because I never see them in real life!

The sapphire/diamond band is gorgeous with that ring, is your e-ring similar to that?

@lilyhofstadter:  You could also get one (custom) that is 1/4th rubies, then 1/4th diamonds/moissys then 1/4 sapphire, then 1/4th diamonds/moissys. Then you will never have the sapphires and rubies showing at the same time. That ring doesn’t exist yet though, so I don’t have a pretty picture :(. Definately sapphire, because it blends better with the diamonds, whereas the ruby sticks out much more. The sapphire is much more subtle and elegant.

I’m having this exact problem. My birthstone is ruby and his is emerald, so I can’t stick them together in any combo without it looking like Christmas. I wasn’t looking for a wedding band though, so I thought getting ring with a design that would naturally have those two colors was a good idea. Initially a thought a red flower with green leaves, but then I thought snakes. We’re both born in the year of the snake and no one would think Christmas while looking at a snake ring.

@ Over the Moon – True, true – those rings you posted are incredible! I stand corrected.
