Thank you! It’s from Mr Harold and son in Glasgow. The jeweller bought it himself and said it was UK made. That’s all I know!

Here’s mine! Newly engaged and now I get to join in the fun!

This was handed down to me by my Aunty 10 years ago. So surreal to finally be wearing it!

Hi! I just got engaged and went ring shopping for the first time yesterday. The ring isn’t made yet, but I can show off the components!

My fiance picked out the stone and the technique, called Mokume Gane, used to make the band. The sapphire will be set into the band with a half bezel.

We didn’t expect it to be an orange sapphire, but it is so gorgeous and he loved it more than  any other stone in the store, and then I came in and looked at everything and couldnt find anything even close to this one either! He has good taste and knows me well. His grandma offered to hand down a diamond ring from two generations of family, but he wanted to get me something more ‘me’!

This first pic is the sapphie next to the sizing ring I am wearing to make sure my band will fit when my fingers are smaller when it is cold, or when it gets fatter. They want me to wear it for like 4 days to make sure I have the right size. The band will be a little wider than the sizing ring, vertically.

Here is a shot of the band, but it is hard to see from this angle. Toget a better idea you can go here: http://www.abragem.com/jewelry-james-binnion.php

It is band #15

This technique was used to embellish samurai swords!

I can’t wait to get it in late January! It takes a while to make these types of bands.

YAY for nontraditional rings!
