@endlessloop:  congratulations on almost being done! I just finished my master’s program and it really does feel good! I just got this diamond and sapphire band, I love the contrast of the deep blue of the sapphires and bright white of the diamonds and metal!

Here is my “Princess Diana”. She is a synthetic sapphire with a diamond ballerina halo. Two tone 10k gold. I LOVE sapphires.

I have a .75 carat blue sapphire in yellow gold, which I think makes the sapphire pop more. Most sapphires are heat treated, just make sure you don’t get one that is lead glass filled.blue_sapphire

My mother just bought a GORGEOUS old Navette shaped ring in platinum with 4 good sized OEC/cut diamonds. The large center stone is missing. So she purchased the setting as a project. Her birthstone is sapphire. She went to a local estate jeweler who specializes in vintage pieces. He said its a great find. She paid $280 for it. Anyway, she is having a mossy minty green sapphire set in the center. I was shocked she didn’t do a blue one. But it’s gorgeous!
