Hello! First time poster, and recently engaged lady over here. Well technically, i’ve been engaged for a few months but am definitely getting into planning mode now. And I’ve been thinking a lot lately about dresses. I tend to gravitate towards dresses that have a more vintage look to them, but are still modern. I really love Sarah Seven dresses, and I think Jenny Packham is super romantic too. I also really like Australian designer Collette Dinnigan, although no boutiques in Toronto (where I’m living) carry her gowns and I would hate to buy one without trying it on first.
So I guess my question is… I mentioned that I love Sarah Seven, but the reviews of her work/professionalism are so so so bad. It seriously broke my heart when I looked into it. And while I like Jenny Packham, things are getting pretty pricey up in there. I have a healthy budget ($5000) but I really don’t want to spend all of that. My sister makes a lot of money and she has offered to pay up to that much, but I would have a hard time with it. So I’d like to spend under $3000, that seems so much more reasonable to me.
Anyway, now finally to get to the question: do you know of any designers that have similar styles? Oh, and one other thing I should mention: I’m a size 8/10, and I definitely have an hourglass figure… little waist, but ample bust and hips. I’m also into sleeves/straps… I know strapless dresses can be made that will keep the girls locked in, but I’d still be so uncomfortable. And as for the sleeves… while I don’t consider myself overweight, I’ve always been really self-conscious about my arms. It’s not really a dealbreaker actually, as it would be good motivation to work them out! But I still find myself drawn to sleeved dresses. I really do want straps though, of some kind.
Here are the dresses that I love the mostest, so you can get a sense of what I like:

Would appreciate any advice you might have! Thanks!
