My fiance and I want to go to Florida for the honeymoon. He wants to try his hand at deep sea fishing, and I just love Florida!! 🙂 I’ve been looking at Sarasota.
Can anyone recommend a hotel that has efficiency rooms? We are on a budget so it would be nice to cut some costs by cooking some meals instead of eating out all the time.
I’ve been looking at the Turtle Beach Resort/The Inn at Turtle Beach. It looks nice… kitchenettes, king sized beds, personal hot tubs, hammocks…anyone been?

Hi I used to live in Sarasota and I walked the beach to collect sea water. I love Sarasota. I would recommend the middle of the island rather than turtle beach because the water is calmer and it’s shallow a long way out. I have also vacationed at Siesta key twice. I would recommend renting a condo. I have stayed here and really enjoyed it.

Also, if you want to go to restaurants and/or get ice cream (my personal favorite)
go to google maps (maps.google.com)
and search for Big Olaf Creamery of Siesta, Siesta Key, FL.
I really like this part of Siesta key for its shops and restaurants.

I would also HIGHLY recommend Siesta Key right off of Sarasota. The beaches on Siesta have the most soft, powedery, white sand anywhere! It’s so lovely! And for poking around/shopping/dining, be sure to check out St. Armand’s Circle. It has so many great shops & restaurants. Can’t recommend any hotels though, sorry. Have fun!

Sarasota is beautiful, and turtle beach is one of the few beaches not many people go to (unlike siesta which will always be full) If you’re renting a car, Tampa isn’t far either, dancing, shopping, and six flags! As long as youre close to the beach, I wouldn’t worry about your hotel, they will all be nice. It doesn’t start to get iffy in some places until you move inland 🙂
