So its time to buy some fabric for my wedding dress sash and I need to decide on a color. I’ve basically decided to duplicate the dress below by ordering a simple ivory dress and having a friend make the lace jacket and sash. My bridesmaids are wearing short black dresses and my accent colors are shades of blue-gray and ivory. I’m using white hydrangeas and roses for my bouquet. I’ve also found some cute blue shoes already, so I don’t think I want a blue sash. So its either ivory, champagne (like in the picture), or should I be bold and go with black or maybe even a charcoal gray or silver?

I vote for ivory, especially if you are going to be wearing colored shoes.

I like black or charcoal haha that’s not much help but I don’t like the sash long like the one on the picture, it would look AMAZING with something like this on this picture and a brouche in the middle =) [attachment=527469,69399]

It sounds like you have got some great ideas, I would follow your inspiration!
Charcoal, grey, silver (in a matte finish) would provide a beautiful contrast to your dress. It sounds like you’ve got a nice kind-of monochromatic color palette going on with the bridesmaids dresses in shades of grey, blue, black. A charcoal sash would echo that.

i think either champagne or ivory. i l-o-v-e the look of the champagne in that pic

I agree the silver would look amazing matte…no shiny sashes going on

I like the sash to match the shoes, so a nice matte silver would look gorgeous!

Thanks Ladies! I like the idea of the shorter sash too, but wonder if the long one might be more elongating? I need all the help I can get!
I am ordering the lace today and wanted to order the fabric together to save on shipping, but now I’m thinking I might wait. My dress is already at the dress shop and my jacket will be ready in a couple of weeks. Maybe I’ll take the shoes and jacket to the dress shop and just hold up bridesmaids dresses in different colors around my waist! Ha! I’m sure the dress shop ladies will love me!

My cousin just got married a few weeks ago, and her BM’s wore black dresses, and she wore a black sash with her dress and it was GORGEOUS!!! Go with the black, it’s very modern, and creates a very beautiful look!

yes! Matte grey or silver would look cool, but the champagne will always be elegant and traditional

My vote is for the champagne! but if you do go with champagne, you can’t go with the shoes you have pictured. They just don’t match. You need ivory ones to match your dress, which is very beautiful!
