My dress will be a lace and chiffon a-line/sheath style with a low back. No embellishments. Pretty simple. For my ceremony I will be wearing a lace cathedral veil as my “wow” piece. I’m not a big hair piece person (though I think they look lovely on others) so I was considering a crystal sash for my dress to give me a little something extra for the reception.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone add a sash to their dress mid wedding…would it be weird?

- Wedding: June 2014 - Gold Hill Gardens
I changed sashes over the course of our wedding day. I started out with a pink hand-beaded one with charms for the ceremony and then before the reception swapped out to one that was light blue and had flowers. I even had some time in the middle of the day when I wasn’t wearing a sash – and I love the variety it gave our photos and my look! A lot of people thought I’d changed my dress . . . I think if you want the “something extra” you should go for it!

LeeBee88: One of my friends did this at her wedding last month! She wore a lace piece over the top of it (strapless) during the church ceremony and removed the lace + added a sash during the reception. I am not sure how many people noticed, but I did! It’s totally normal and a fine idea 🙂
