I’d do something blingy.  Maybe its the pics, but I can barely see this sash.  It does look like it needs… something… without it though.

I’d love to see pics when your dress is tied properly! It might make it look more put-together without the sash, ya know?

@futuremrscap:  I don’t think you need a belt at all, since the contrast between the tight bodice and very full skirt already emphasize your waist. That’s why huge full skirts have been worn forever– centuries ago, when big skirts were invented and worn as normal clothing, it was because it makes the waist look small! πŸ™‚

If you really want a sash or belt, I’d go with something a lot wider and either a pastel color in plain silk fabric (peach, blush, taupe, pale blue, pale green) or a bling belt that matches the sparklies on your dress. The narrow white ribbon you’re using in the picture sort of distracts from how lovely the dress is.

I personally don’t think it needs anything extra at the waist, but I see from your later comments that you are definitely wanting to add a belt or sash. Go for it! Just not a plain white ribbon. πŸ™‚

I think you should pick out the sash, once your dress fits properly. I think maybe a thicker belt/sash with some sort of ebeliishment on it would look very pretty!

@little_d:  I agree, you can’t really see the sash. A little colour or something would be great.

I am usually a fan of sashes but I don’t thinka sash would work well with your dress so my vote is skip it!

A sash would be good! I heard of another Bee doing this and I think it’s genius. Go look at the headbands at Anthropologie! They could easily be turned into a belt!
