OK, so my dress (Jim Hjelm Blush 1105) comes with a black sash, and while I really like it, I feel like the dress may be more flattering without it. I love the colour, and I’ll be wearing black shoes, but just struggling to decide on the sash. Help me please!
With original sash:
Sash 2 (regular, thick black ribbon)

You look so beautiful! 🙂 I personally believe in the “less is more” philosophy. Without it, I am drawn to your face rather than something around your waist.
You are stunning without either of the sashes. If I was forced to choose a sash, it would be the second one.

Sorry about the massive size of the photos, I’m not sure how to resize them 🙁

I think the dress looks better from the front with no sash, but I love the way it looks with the plain black sash tied in a bow from the back. I don’t like the original sash at all (sorry). I would go with no sash because most pictures will be of the front view.

@craftybridelovesnerdygroom: You’re so sweet – thankyou! I truly love the dress.

@MsPoodles: I hear you about the original sash – i think the fact that it’s so thin is not doing me any favors at all…

Without the sash is more flattering – also, I’ve never been much of a fan of the black sashes! The gown is lovely all on its own (and you in it, of course).

@Marina007: You are most welcome! 🙂 I hope you choose what you feel best in.
P.S. Have you ever thought of getting a white ribbon (if you really want to wear a sash)? That way, in my opinion, it won’t distract from you as a bride?

Definitely not the original sash! But I tell ya, you look incredible BOTH ways! Stunning dress. Also love the idea of a white ribbon, though if you go with black, what about no sash for ceremony, and sash for reception?

I vote either skip the sash alltogether or use the thick black ribbon. I am not a fan of the original sash at all, but the black ribbon looks great!

I don’t like the original- but plain or the thicker band is good.

I’m LOLing at “dress is fug” (which it’s not). I personally love it without! Runner up would be thick black one.

I think it looks best without the black sash. But what about a sparkly sash? I think the black sash breaks up your long line, and a white or sparkly sash might add some pizazz but keep the eye on you. Beautiful dress!

I think it looks beautiful just the way it is, with no sash. Love it! But, I also love how it looks with sash 2 (the thick one). So, do whichever you like best! What if you did what a PP suggested, no sash for ceremony and pics but sash for reception? Could be cute!

I voted for sash, it seems to be a little bit plain without sash.
