Which would you rather have? I like the waffle weave ones because the girls can re-use them as bath robes, but I just think the satin ones seem so luxurious. 🙂 I mean… those can be used later on, too, right? I can’t decide what to do. I will be doing the three letter cursive monogram on the front. Anyone think the robes are too overdone for bridesmaids? I know they’re pretty popular recently, but they make good “getting ready” pictures and it’s a nice gift they can use both on the wedding day and later on. Agree/disagree? 🙂

i’d go for the waffle weave ones personally 🙂

The satin ones seem luxurious, and I guess they are, but I think that the waffle one would be the most used. I think they are equally as cute in pics, so I say waffle. I have a waffle one that I bought myself last year and I love it.

I bought waffle weave robes for my girls. I am not a big fan of satin robes – they do look luxurious, but they suck at soaking up water, so I never end up wearing mine after I get out of the shower. I’ve always had roommates, so I wouldn’t want to wear one around the house without clothes underneath, since they can be so sheer… So unless most of your BMs are married or live with their SOs, I would buy them waffle weaves. But get them monogrammed! That helps so much!
I bought monogrammed waffle weave robes from J.C. Penny for $20 each and they turned out amazing – super soft, the monograms look great, and really really classy and cute. I’m not usually a J.C. Penny shopper but this was a great deal. If you haven’t ordered robes yet, check out their website!

Waffle weave is more functional from a “getting ready” standpoint. Satin is awesome, too, but it reminds me more of lingerie…some people may feel uncomfortable wearing it around other people.

Waffle weaves are so much more practical. Plus….waffle weave=cheaper 😉

If any of your girls will be wearing their hair down or partially down, satin is better because the hair will just slide over the satin whereas waffle weave fabric will grab the hair, rough it up, and make it more prone to frizz. Yeah, found that out the hard way.

I live in my satin robes at home. I have no shame and wear them in the summer to let my dog out (I live in an apartment complex).

Wow! Thanks for your responses, bees. I’m glad I asked. I was leaning toward the satin, but clearly waffle weave is more preferred.

I definitely would prefer the waffle weave — especially if they are 100-percent cotton, vs. the polyester found in most satin garments (unless they are 100 percent silk-satin, which is probably not the case.) The waffle-weave robes look great in pics, too!

Waffle-weave is more practical for everyday use, but satin is great for when a woman wants to feel sexy! However, satin gets HOT. I used to have satin sheets on my bed…and boy, they made me sweat!
