Might be an obvious answer but I am not familiar with these. Could overlays be used as tablecloths? Are they tablecloths?! Haha. :p

Usually they aren’t big enough to be used as a tablecloth, so if you used it alone, you would have a lot of space down below on the sides. Most times, they are placed over a white tablecloth to just cover the top of the table and go partway down the sides. I guess if you have small tables or don’t want the tablecloth to drop to the floor, it could be used as a tablecloth though!

Like the PP said, it might not drop to the floor. I’ve included a picture of a table set up with an overlay and a white table cloth. Unless your tables are significantly smaller than the tables the overlay size recommends, anywhere you see white could have nothing
