I’d love to give my girls satin robes as a a part of their Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts for getting ready on my wedding day, and I know that they’d like them.
The thing is, I’m getting married in July and we will be getting ready at my house (lots of space and the hair stylists are coming there instead of us going to the salon). However, my house is NOT air-conditioned, so I worry that robes might be unnecessary for that day lol – I don’t want anyone melting to death – the humidity here can be yucky.
Would you still give the robes as a gift, despite the possible heat?
Does anyone have another fun “getting ready” gift I could give my girls? Another idea I had was maybe a comfy jersey sundress (something super comfy) or maybe capri-length yoga pants and a “bridesmaid” tank….
**This is only part of their gift – I purchased their wedding shoes, necklaces/earrings and am paying for their hair/manis/pedis. I also got them super cute hobo bags (cheap!) which is what I’m trying to fill now 🙂

Oooh. I could see this possibly being an issue. What about light cotton robs instead? Cotton might breathe better than satin in the heat. I also like your idea of a light jersey sundress or possibly the towel dress wraps?

Thank you for the ideas!! I love the towel dress idea 🙂

I second the idea for towel wrap. Another idea may be a terry dress like this. It can also be used as a cover-up after the wedding, and it can be monogrammed if you want:

I immediately thought of these. http://www.etsy.com/listing/92028610/bride-dress-blueyellow-medlg
Its made for the bride to get ready and it’s custom made. I see no reason why she couldn’t make them for the bridesmaids. (or even do as a DIY project if you’re crafty).
I’m thinking of getting one for me. I think they are adorable.

I love both of those dresses!!!
@MelissaSB: do you know where I could find something like that one? I think it is adorable!
Off to google I go!! 🙂

@MelissaSB: Me too, I’d love to know where to fine something like that! The only ones that come up on google are the standard ones with too much elastic at the bust and they dont seem as full as the one you posted!

I found them here!
I have never personally ordered from this site though, just been looking…

I would go for a jersey knit tube-top sundress.
