I always knew I wanted a simple ball gown but I was split between satin and lace. When I went to try dresses on I just didn’t feel like “me” in lace. Once I settled on satin it was actually a little harder to find a simple satin ball gown since they aren’t the super “in style” look. I ended up falling in love with a dress online, driving 1.5 hours to a store that had the sample and then ordering at a store near me. Some people don’t like the “shiny” aspect of traditional satin which I love but I ended up with a satin taffeta blend which as just the right amount of sheen for me. I will say, I’m not a fan of taffeta AT ALL but satin taffeta has a totally different feel and look than regular taffeta.

I think the biggest pro to satin is that they are just so classic!! A bridal consultant told me that it was good I was having a winter wedding because summer brides can’t wear satin and to that I say YOU DO YOU GIRL! So don’t let anyone tell you that because satin is classic year round ๐Ÿ˜‰

also, @uk-Bee your dress and veil are absolutely GORGEOUS!! ๐Ÿ˜

leee74 :  to be more specific, it was the fall 2016 legends collection, style L6133B.  It was ivory shantung silk and a strapless fluted (mermaid/trumpet) dress with a sweetheart neckline.
