Ivory taffeta. Dress was light and comfy and I feel like the structure of the bottom portion held well (over tulle). Didn’t look shiny and cheap in evening photos (some satins look weird).

I don’t know the specifics. Just ‘satin’ of some sort

Photos won’t upload for some reason! Sorry not a lot of help but it’s on my profile should you want to see.

galadriel :  I have this dress (my mom and Future Mother-In-Law have all the phots of me in it!) It’s silk dupioni, but is much softer and finer than what I usually associate with silk dupioni. It has structure but is still light and breathable, and the fabric is lustrous and drapes beautifully–just the right amount of weight to it. Mine has a subtle foral print to it as well, I’m not sure if you just can’t see it in the site photos or if it was an added customized feature.

Shantung Silk – loved it!  Wasn’t shiny in photos like satin and felt more structured, but was still light to wear.

Silk is the material.  Satin, dupioni, shantung, radzmir describe the finish or weave. If you Google “silk satin, definition” you should be able to find some helpful articles on the different bridal fabrics.  I did this when I was looking at a dupioni dress.

btob17 :  You might want to look at chiffon fabrics.

I had an all satin gown custom made. I really wanted a detachable train, and no one is doing that at the moment.
