I’d say, if possible, stay at a hotel in historic Savannah.  Everything is such a close walking distance if you stay in that area and I always enjoy the chance to ditch the car for a week and walk everywhere.  I think our favorite place to stay there is the River Street Inn.  Really tiny rooms (cause it’s historic), but they’re cute and romantic.

Oh and P.S. If you’re wanting to go to The Lady and Sons, make sure you’re there before noon to place your reservation for dinner.  Crazy I know!  Alot of people just show up expecting maybe an hour wait, without realizing on most nights no reservation you’re not getting in.

we went to tybee island and it was nice — small town beach kind of deal. it’s not too far from savannah (about 40 minutes as i remember) and might be a nice day trip (depending on what time of year you go, of course). though i’m up for the beach any time of year!

i’m planning on going to savannah for our second "cotton" anniversary. we’re going to the cotton exchange tavern and restaurant. we’re staying in the historic area at a B&B. we’re defintely hitting up lady and sons. we’re also going to do the historic carriage tour. there is also a restaurant called the pirate restaurant that i looked into as well. i contacted the savannah tourist office for materials on the area so i’m hoping to find more stuff to do. mr bop doesn’t know about the trip, it’s a huge surprise 🙂
