The one bit of advice I can offer, (If I’m only allowed one..hee hee) is to ABSOLUTELY hire a professional freelance makeup artist to do your wedding makeup. At YOUR location. At YOUR specified time. And with at least ONE makeup trial under your belt with your MUA prior to your event.
There are many reasons why I recommend not rushing to the mall makeup counter on the morning of your wedding day, but here are the most important ones!
*The makeup counter is a retail environment, not a salon one. Although you may be, and absolutely SHOULD be your counter retail artist’s main focus, unfortuantely, she has a sales goal to make that day, and so everyone else waiting to be helped is her focus too.
*What if she’s late? What if she’s sick? What if she’s new? Untrained? What if she isn’t SCHEDULED? With a a Professional, you can rest assured that YOU are her schedule that day, and her main prority, and if she wants to be paid, She WILL be there!
*And last but not least, a true Professional Makeup Artist has paid her dues behind those counters for years, knows her stuff, and has MANY years of experience and training, inside and outside those mall doors, and can’t WAIT to cater to your makeup needs with YOUR beautiful makeup on her mind, and nobody elses!
So sit back, relax, sip some champagne in your cute white satin Bride-To-Be robe with your girls, and bask in the luxury of having a Professional MUA knock on your hotel door, hopefully on time, (if not early for set up!) with her kit in hand ready to make you glow! After all, you’re spending a million bucks on your photos, don’t you want to look and feel like a million bucks in them?:) By hiring a pro, you will!
