I just wanted to share an idea for any brides out there who are trying to save on booze, we are having a cookies and cocoa hour instead of a cocktail hour to save money. We will still have booze while the dinner is happening, but this way we shorten the drinking time and therefore spend less money. Plus our ceremony site is doing cookies cocoa tea and coffee for super cheap! For a summer wedding you could have cookies and lemonaid and iced tea. I think the caffeine will give the guests lots of energy and a snack always makes people happy.

Our venue provides punch and appetizers as their "gift" to us…which I’m sure we technically paid for with our very large venue fee. It’s something to keep them cooled down. I like the cookies idea. Something to hold everyone over is very thoughtful. Or even get ice cream in little cups. Like the good kind from a local custard store, not the icky kind from WAlmart

Our ceremony is over at 3 and our cocktail hour at 4 so in between we are having cider and donuts for our guests. We figured people did not need to start boozing at 3pm! Plus, I will get to participate in the cocktail hour this way (photos will be over…)
