Quick question… Does your Save the Date Cards have to match your wedding invitation and wedding theme? I already know most people are going to check YES. But, honestly… maybe they don’t have to match! We are having a Christamas wedding, but obviously didn’t take Christmas card like engagement photos. So I’m stuck :/
ps… ok I’m lying! We did take a few “Christmasy” photos, but I hate them all and dont want to use them in the STD Cards.

No they don’t have to match:) Mine didn’t and actually, my invites didn’t incorporate any of my wedding colors either. I think anything goes here.

We created and printed our Save-The-Date Cards, so they didn’t match our invitations. We did try to get close to our wedding colors though.

Yay! That makes me happy, a whole lot less to stress about. Finding suitable invites has been hard enough!

My daughters’s save the dates were more quirky and fun, but her actual wedding invitations and theme is very elegant. I thought the save the dates matched the excitement of the time. I doubt anyone will have them side by side and compare them or remember.
unless of course they are very unique. For example, my neighbor’s son and fiancé sent out what looked like football game tickets as save the dates and the sports theme and colors followed through everything. That was memorable.

No they don’t. Our save the date’s are baseball themed with red and blue. Our invite’s will match our wedding theme which is polka dots and will be the same colors of our wedding (light green, light yellow and light pink.)
We wanted our save the date’s to be fun and throw people off on what our wedding will be.

Honestly, it’d be kind of weird to send out Christmas themed save-the-dates in May. Do whatever you want!
