The fiancé and I just decided that we’re most likely going to send Save-The-Date Cards (either postcards or magnets) and I have a question for you ladies who did or are thinking about sending them.
Did you Save-The-Date Cards match your wedding colors and/or invitation suite?
I kind of want to just pick a card I like without having it set the tone for the rest of the paper items we’ll be having. Is that ok or is it a big no-no?

Mine coordinated but I designed everything myself. I did vintage-style postcards for the save the dates; and then used the same design (different photo) for my RSVP postcards in my invitation suite.
I think its a nice touch to coordinate but I highly doubt most people will notice one bit. If you know your color scheme I would maybe just try and keep the colors the same throughout?

Mine matched the colors, but I hadn’t yet designed the suite so it didn’t match the eventual invite in any way other than color.

Nah, ours didn’t match AT ALL. Our invitations were very formal and our Save-The-Date Cards were highly informal (they involved pictures of cows if that tells you anything). We just wanted something lighthearted and fun.

My Save-The-Date Cards are exact same paper and font, colors, etc. as the invitation.

Our design didn’t match our colors. They are a magnet with a big picture and just a bit of text. In retrospect I wish I’d made the text blue or green for our colors, but because the picture is really the focus of the magnet, I don’t think it matters at all. I think you should be fine!

mine did not match at all. Since we are doing a destination wedding, our save the dates had to go out really early. I just picked something that I liked on Vistaprint. I hadn’t had time to even think about invitations then. . .

Mine match completely.
My colours are ivory, very (very) pale pink, and dark grey. STD’s are on ivory cardstock, dark grey writing, and then wrapped in pale pink ribbon adorned with a hanging snowflake pendant.
ETA: My mother did this, and I would never put this much effort into a STD.

I guess my dilemma is I either want them to match exactly, which means I need to pick my invitation suite right away or not at all because I don’t want it to look like I tried to have them match and it failed lol
